ISART's Game Design degree course gives students the skills needed to enter the video game industry. In the Bachelor's program students discover the fundamentals of Game Design and develop a solid videogame culture.

They learn to communicate and formalize game concepts and mechanics. The lectures and masterclasses of the Master's program focus on specialized subjects. Students create original, high-quality games in multidisciplinary teams.

They work as they would in the industry, while enjoying a great deal of creative freedom.

This video game training specialized in Game Design prepares students for various roles in the industry: Game Designer | Level Designer | Lead Game Designer | Narrative Designer | UX Designer | Economic Designer

Admission to the first year of the Game Design program is conditional to a high school diploma, as well as the admissions test: interview, presentation of a portfolio and written tests.

 

It is possible to enter directly into the 3rd year of the program, subject to the results obtained in the admission test.

  • Acquire the design skills related to the production of a video game: master the fundamentals of Game Design, have a videogame culture, be able to formalize concepts and game mechanics
  • the managerial skills related to the production of a video game: know how to communicate, organize and write
  • Be able to invent, formalize and prototype interactive game mechanics adapted to what the target audience is looking for
  • Development of a video game concept
  • Design of the game's components
  • Video game scripting
  • Development of the level design (game structure and player progression)
  • Quality control
  • Participation in the development of promotional elements of the game
  • Game design project management
  • Theoretical and practical teaching: lectures, application exercises, practical work, tutorials
  • Production of projects: monitoring and supervision by teachers during the realization of projects (end of year project, final major project)
  • Continuous Assessment (case studies, role-playing, presentations, demonstrations)
  • Project presentations (end of year project, final major project) in front of a school or professional jury
  • Written and oral evaluations in English
  • Professional experience report and presentation

The first year of the Game Design training is full-time to prepare serenely for the entry into the work-study program.

From the second year, students must develop their professional experience in a company through internships, short contracts...

The RNCP Level 7 title "Game Designer" is delivered at the end of the studies, based on the results obtained.

 

This Master's Degree validates the acquisition of business skills (hard skills), social skills (soft skills), professional integration and the level of English.
